  • Shops having one price online and then a higher price in store so it turns out cheaper to get the thing posted to me (probably from the store I went to) than it is for me to walk in and buy it in person.

  • I needed some Radweld recently.
    Unfortunately (not so local) Halfords seemed to be the most likely place with stock I could physically collect. Online price £4.99. Shelf price £12.99. Checked with a geezer setting up the number plate machine. Was assured the till operator would honour the online price, which fortunately she did.
    Is this 'surge' or 'dynamic' pricing, or just funding the Halfords' Chairperson's Bentley & cigars lifestyle?
