I don't know if this has anything to do with Ben Healey's decision, but in triathlon, Lucy Charles Barclay has recently struggled with Brexit rules that limit the amount of time she can spend in the Schengen zone without a visa. She used up most of her time with a couple of big blocks of training and then almost had to skip a race as a result. An Irish passport would solve all those kinds of issues.
Yeah sure he's got family history but I don't understand what they gain from it. Is there that much more support from Irish cycling?
