  • Just realised it's been like two years since I had planned to get this Squier Telecaster Thinline Master Series back in use and I've done very little about it since then...

I swapped the bridge for a Fender-ish hardtail bridge I got from Aliexpress or Wish and it actually seems pretty nice.
    Tuners are Schaller Vintage F-series.
I've got some hum bucker size Roswell Charlie Christian pickups and I ordered this pickguard which doesn't align with the routs whatsoever as it's 24.75" scale (I've ordered another one with no routs so I can cut it to suit...)

This highlights a problem... the pickguard will only cover half of the control routs and obviously doesn't cover the upper bout toggle hole.
I had been thinking about going for volume, tone, 3-way blade on the pickguard so do I fill the holes and paint it or what do we think?

For once I don't have a strong vision for this one so I'm open to suggestions... I'd probably paint it Olympic White, Dakota Red or Black with some sort of milk paint finish if I paint it.

  • Fill and paint the front, keep the binding and natural back and sides? Or just paint the whole thing, it'll look ace. I think painted Thinlines look brilliant, black wins for me.
