In fairness they've had no compost. I'll give that a go this year before thinking about replacement.
Anyway the next bit of garden work is going to be super dull and unrewarding.
- Dig up lawn and put jumbo gravel in for drainage (dreading this) - the bit in between the blue lines
- Leveling lawn a bit - to manage the transition to the new patio - as you can see there is a big step up at the moment which needs to be remedied

Tall link things may be type of wild campion?
Try pulling up and splitting your dafs(if there are side bulbs), and moving them. The son of a breeder told me that can help.
Mine were ok but they all got fresh compost this year.
