My mind was changed on this subject on here by comments a few years ago [it can happen!]. I was getting wound up at work by colleagues pronouncing Zeebrugge 'Zee-Brewj', presumably using the standard for Bruges. A lovely post told me languages ebb, flow and evolve and if enough people use a new pronunciation then it will become accepted anyway. I'm more relaxed now.
