What do you like so much about it? It would annoy me that it's 1 inch thick.
It's 18mm. I'm not too worried about that because I used to wear a 16.2mm Doppelchrono with a suit. Never took it off. I like everything about the CSAR. The side profile looks like the Parthenon. Easy to read weekday. Gas tubes. The lock rings on the pushers.

I'm thinking about getting this CSAR. It was on ebay with a starting price of £1000 but got no bids. I'm trying to talk the seller down to £900.
The scratches are a good excuse for a custom finish. I think sandblasted would look very nice. Or I could goldify it with a home electroplating kit. I reckon gold electroplating on all external surfaces apart from the bezel insert would be quite easy to do. I wouldn't try to plate anything behind the crystal. The bezel insert markers are a challenge. Some people electroplate the whole bezel then rub the gold off everywhere except the markers. Other people just use gold Humbrol.
