  • Apparently I've been doing it wrong

  • That's bonkers.

Good viral ad for whatever loony juice he's drinking. I see you, marketing dept.

  • I think it's a genuine archive ad not a modern spoof. It's also whyte and mackay a which I've not even seen since the 90's but Google suggests the brand is still alive and well. Take note Bud light

  • He had his whisky ruined twice in America with warm water?

Mate, that was piss. If you ask for water in your whisky in Kentucky, prepare to be the victim of a hate crime.

  • Yet huge handfuls of ice, splashes of syrup, and a sprig of mint in your bourbon are acceptable there.

  • Are you sure you're not describing a cocktail?

  • It's more than a cocktail. It's a way of life.

  • If i have a whisky this weekend I'm definitely going to give it a little hello how are you and see if it enhances my experience. Mmm thank you very much 🥃

  • Actually, from a psychology perspective, it probably will taste better. Unless your whisky calls you a cunt you're probably going to find the chat quite funny and your mood enhanced.

I'm going to start talking to more inanimate objects...

  • I've definitely called a bike a bike a cunt before and regularly tell headwinds to fuck off

  • Blatant something or other ...

If you're not already a member of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society (members' rooms in Farringdon, Edinburgh and Glasgow, access to exclusive single cask bottlings) and you want to be, now would be a really good time to join, because with a referral code you'll get 40% off until Monday May 1st* (takes membership and a "specially selected" bottle down to £78 rather than £130 - cheaper without the bottle).
(You need to enable all cookies for it to work.)

If you've got a friend who's a member, tap them up as they'll also get a £40 voucher if you use their code.

If you haven't, http://rwrd.io/vwdmsq7?s is today's obvious spam.

.* Small print on the site says if the code was issued 25/04 until 01/05, it'll give the discount for 3 months. I think I'll only believe that if my referrer code - the spam above - changes on Tuesday. If it does, I'll note it.

  • There was a heavy discount recently which I wish I’d abused (£18), but will be loading a Nectar card (Sainsbury’s) to get this. £22 on Amazon.

  • Process with these guys has been pretty simple so far. Create account, search for bottle and add to For Sale list, get partner to drop bottles off at their place down the road, add bank account details and wait for them to add pictures and list...

  • Cheers for the heads-up. Same offer currently running in Tesco with a Clubcard.

  • I've had two faultless sales via this company. First one my wife dropped the bottle off, second time I posted it to them (the most nervous posting experience of my life but I packaged it VERY well).

  • On offer @ £20 in Asda, so thought I'd give it a go. Not bad, quite fruity.

  • They make solid stuff, have their own style, I think not trying to emulate any of the classic scotches works in their favour.

I was at a stag do in North Wales a few years ago and went to the Abber Falls distillery that had just opened. They hadn't any whisky ready by then but we tasted the new make which was really nice, you can get it now I'd be eager to know how it turned out.

  • This tasty tipple managed to force about a quarter of a bottle of itself down my neck last night, so quite enjoyable to say the least, and as you say quite unlike any Scottish whisky. House of Malt describe it: "Penderyn Legend is a cracking Welsh single malt whisky matured in bourbon barrels at the beginning of its life, and then finished in ex-Madeira casks which imparts some extra layers of sweetness and soft spice."

  • Mine are in their June auction. Not really bothered about making cash money yo I just wanted to get rid of the bottles rather than contribute further to my rampant alcoholism :P

  • 7 years ago we talked of buying a cask.

  • I think I still have the spreadsheet of prices

  • I always knew I’d have no cash for this venture.

  • Unexpected item in Palma duty free. Cheaper than the regular one for some reason.
