  • I really should get this, I love the font and the sizes, very wearable?

  • But which one is you?

    (snicker snicker)

    (well done dude!)

  • @Regal great stuff.

  • very wearable?

It's a bit small TBH (looks bigger in the image than on the wrist).

I'll probably keep it as a casual dress watch, but I doubt it will get a huge amount of daily wear.

  • I think that’s very cool.

  • I like it. It’s a fun design. How’s the price/quality ratio?

  • Heh, thanks, and everyone else too.

I was saying to Thomas that I thought the Longines heritage chrono was a good example of vintage-style dial text done really, really badly, and he agreed and said he’d given the gilt Record version a bit of a pasting on Fratello when he had it in for review, heh.

  • It’s a fun design. How’s the price/quality ratio?

I was attracted to the design when I ordered it.

From memory (cos it was a while ago) I paid about £550 for the watch, and I got hit with about £120 tax and admin charges.

    It's not a £770 watch.

It's very light (admittedly I've been wearing some chunky watches recently) and doesn't feel particularly solid. The strap is very cheap and poor quality.

It's not a bad watch, and I'll keep it, but for something I was looking forward to getting for ages it's left me feeling a little deflated.

  • I've been looking at a couple of salmon dialed models recently. I quite like the look of this. Hot or not?

  • Love this. Why aren’t these more popular?! Apparently I have a boner for 70’s style watches.

  • Sorry to hear that. Its why despite really wanting to order something sub 1k from a micro brand, I just can't bring myself to do it. I don't feel it'll ever live up to my expectations.

  • On the other hand I have a Paulson Pearl Diver that I bought as a cheap daily and I love it. Wear it in preference to several much more spenny watches.

  • i like it. i blow hot and cold on salmon dials. bit preppy.

i picked up the anOrdain salmon dial (lacquer not enamel model). will post a pic in 3 months

  • Vrrry nice.

    What year is that?

  • I know seriously under valued.

  • I think early 70’s , probably 1974.

  • Sorry. Funeral got in the way (to which I wore this). Think that one is even nicer tbf. Lovely watch.

Excuse the bad pic. I'm blaming the curse of @ejay2.0

  • That still looks as good to me.
And much better after it was serviced by STS.
Hopefully mine will come up as well as that.

  • The dial is a lot less smudged irl and really pops in the right light.

It's in the rare category of one of 2 watches that I own that someone will always comment on / ask about every time I wear it. Thanks again 😀👍

  • How much should I budget for laser refinishing of this case and bezel? And who should I get to do it?

  • Surely a Marathon is supposed to look beat up

  • Well, yes. It really only needs a new bezel insert and a decent bracelet. But I'd like to know how much it would be to tart up the case etc. Haven't bought it yet. Trying to overcome the desire.

  • Good morning and happy Friday people!
