Has anyone brought direct from Brompton recently? Is the quoted 3-5 days pretty accurate?

Customer thought it needed more pop, I agree.
Fresh cables, Jagwire, nice working on super clean bikes.

Know nothing about Bromptons, but what’s the pedal at the front?
Forgot- looking good -
• #13531
Removable NDS pedal. Clips on there for safekeeping while it's off, I assume.

• #13532
Bromptons new superlight pedals, obviously that’s just for storage when folded not to be ridden like that!

MKS or nothing!

@sbbohr,@Brommers, thanks for clearing that up. Cheers

Nice.
My temptation would be only change the gear cable as you have done, upgrade the cables, but keep the other 2 black.
I saw early versions of this bike with another tourquoise accent tape/chain stay protector , but I guess it was just a faff or didn't look good after a little use.

I think the measurements on the Brompton website are for "pootling around town" type rides. I just got back from riding mine to Paris, and so was trying to get a set-up as close to my fitted road bike position as possible. I'm 5'11" and was just about able to get an extended 600mm seatpost high enough to be comfortable over long distances. If I was any taller I'd definitely have wanted a telescopic seatpost

No?! Why would you change just one of the three cables, and they touch each other… That would just look Half assed and ridiculous! That piece on the chain stays just packaging
-
• #13538
Yeah, agree. I'm 6ft and fine with the extended seat post at more or less max height with thin soled Converse style trainers for pootling; I suspect it would do my knees in over distance, however. My road bikes have more leg extension.

Has anyone used the Sturmey Archey 3sp shifter rather than the stock Brompton one? Pros/Cons?

Are there any pressing reasons not to get a brand new A Line for € 1100? As far as I could tell it's fully upgradeable with mudguards, rack and whatnot later on.
Even 15-20 years old, heavily used models go for € 7-800 here in NL, so I'm not very keen on buying one second hand at the moment. -

New you get the 7 year frame warranty.
I think most only sell them when they really have no need for them, but upthread you will see some who have regretted selling.
Sometimes current versions do not repeat prior year colours, and for some the colours make it.As for upgrades, many suggestions on this thread, but the €300 delta is always one for you to make a call.
I do however think if you are comparing a 2 year old 'P line' with a new A, I would still opt for the 'P'. If you are comparing A:A, go new.

Much better function, slightly less ergonomic

That’s what I wanted to hear!

New Brompton C-line, creaks when seated. No creak when pedalling out of the saddle. I’ve had the suspension block out and greased the non-threaded part of the bolt, no better. Any suggestions of where to try next?
I suspect something to do with the saddle clamp assembly? It stated after changing saddle angle.

I had exactly same issue. It's such a pain. I thought id tried everything. One thing that seems to have worked is re grease pedals
-
• #13546
Try greasing and tightening the seat bolt.

• #13547
Which saddle?

I think I've solved the problem - user error. I sprayed Rhino Shine onto the bike after a wet ride, and, of course onto the seat post. Took the seat post out, cleaned it and the seat tube insert, and all's well so far.

What is a €300 delta?
Cheers, guess I'll give it a shot at home then. I need to go to the shop anyway to get an inner tube so not much difference there.
