Well, this proved inconclusive. The ratchet and pawls were pretty clean and lubed with a light oil. I cleaned it out and re-lubed with fresh oil anyway. Next to check is the indexing once I get the barrel adjuster freed up. I don't think I've done enough miles for it to be a worn cassette or stretched chain causing the jumping.
