Vernon Barker 531 custom tourer

Hi - I’m looking to sell / see if there is any interest in my Vernon Barker custom touring bike.

It was built in Sheffield in c.2002 for the bloke I bought it off. He did 2 tours of the south of France and it sat in his shed for 20 years.

The bike is in great condition for its age and I’ve done approx.500km on it over a couple of summers. It’s been sitting in my kitchen in the mean time.

It’s got full campag veloce 9spd (3 on the front means plenty for uphill on a full load) and comes with some panaracer 28s on 700c Mavic SUP’s 36h rims and campag hubs. I also have a pair of full panniers (front and back) and frame pump for the braised carrier which can go with it.

The bike is super comfy, braised with chrome lugs, and I’ll chuck in the brookes saddle. It came with a slightly wonky front chainring which could be replaced (I’ve checked the bb and this is fine) but rides super smooth apart from some squeaky canti brakes.

Anyway I was thinking £600 for the complete bike?

I’m reluctant to sell - I just don’t get the chance to ride it at all.

just going to bump this as 10 months later i have added some pics..

And it's quite special. I suggest amending the size on the title as it's a bit misleading — someone out there looking for a small-to-medium tourer isn't likely to click on a 58cm listing.

Whoa, is that a 56c-c ST? I'd have guessed 52!
