I often find if I want perspective on UK politics I need to read media from another country which removes the UK party political bias. Al Jazeera is often my go to for independent perspective.
But the late night US talk shows are my US equivalent to HIGNFY and I am aware of their absence due to the writers strike.

And I tend to agree with you, presuming you're not being flippant for once, they're surprisingly unbiased.
