i want to build a route out of the 35 consecutive hiking routes someone has uploaded to komoot. I copied number one: how do I add numbers 2, 3, 4... to my copied route please? Or is there a way of selecting the 35 segments he has uploaded as separate stges and somehow automatically getting them made into one?
OK I found another person who has uploaded it as one, I now would like to revrse it. -

Buying from the EU, online.
How do I know if what I pay (~€250/€300) at checkout covers import etc taxes for when the item lands in the UK?
What wording do I need to be looking for, if the merchant has even gone to the bother of explaining steps they take for non-EU residents?
My current options are:
Use VPN to change location to where they’re based, buy and ship to family and then have them ship it to me for ~€15. That’d come to ~€300 + €15.
Keep location as UK and have them ship it to the UK. That comes to ~€268 shipped.
So 2. looks like the better option, but if VAT will be added it would bring it to ~€320. Any other customs charges?
The price difference is greater on other products so it’s not always as little as €5 to be saved. We receive a lot of parcels from family in the EU - not yet being asked to pay additional fees so I’m happy to assume we wouldn’t be this time either.
Any advice greatly appreciated!

Any other customs charges?
yes - duty will be added unfortunately. which will vary based on what the goods are. the courier may also add an additional 'handling charge' for this (typically £10-20)
personally i would ship to your family

Pedals!
I just ordered some nice polished alu DMR V12s for my touring bike partly 'cos of a review that said the pins could be screwed in to make them less aggro. Turns out... nope, they can't. Hmph. But wait... are maybe the magnesium versions tuneable while the alloy ones aren't? Alternatively, can I buy 40 M5 x .7 pins that are somewhat shorter than 8mm, cheap? Or should I just HTFU?

Short pins sounds like a good idea but you could also remove some of them? This is what I have done on my Hope F20s

Personally, I think you're right.
I also kind of refuse to be financially worse-off because of something I voted against! Could save even more and bring it back in the boot of the car in August...

Is airport parking (at Luton specifically) the kind of thing that is cheaper if you book early or does it not really matter and you can just turn up and do it?
-
• #116986
It's a gamble.
If it's busy then booking well in advance will get you the best price as the prices will only go up as demand outstrips supply.
If it's not busy then you can often get a bargain right up late to the date of the flight. Not Luton but I paid less once for valet parking (drop off in short stay car park) than I had booking months in advance on a different trip and parking far enough away that the courtesy bus took 20 minutes to get to the terminal.
The hedge is looking at the cancellation terms, if it's possible to do so then book well in advance and then see if it's cheaper to cancel that one at the last possible moment if there's a better deal elsewhere.
Ultimately you've just got to be happy with the amount you're paying. One time at Gatwick the prices were so high (even months in advance) and didn't come down that it ended up being cheaper to get a cab there and then train/cab home.

Good notion. Short pins are probably the way. I will fling myself at the puzzling riddle of Clerkenwell Screws' opening hours.
-
• #116988
Cheers. Train/cab isn't really an option so think I'll bite the bullet and book early.

Are bib-free cycling shorts a thing? I swear I've read about them before but I'm not having much luck searching
-
• #116990
They are, but they're nowhere near as common. They tend to be called waist or waisted shorts.

M5 x .7
M4×0.7

Yeah, this one is still here. Checked our box of thru axles, they're mostly ZTTO and there's a chance we bought them separately from the fork.
