  • Wouldn't waste your money, my wife has been using it and its been really hit and miss, not recording some actives or the actives appears a few days later. Battery life is terrible doesn't get a whole day. She doesn't really us any of the smart phone features so can't comment on that side.

  • re: pixel tablet - Prices for the Pixel Tablet start at $499/£599
pretty shit if that's the case. did someone get their numbers mixed up?!

    meanwhile the 7a is $499/£449

  • I've had a Pixel 6 since not long after they came out. Good phone with a great camera but battery life is disappointing. If I want to get through a full day away I have to be somewhat careful of the battery (although battery saver mode works well).

To be honest, the only thing that really stands out compared to a variety of similar phones is the camera. If that's not important then I think most phones are much of a muchness.

  • US prices are before tax (VAT equivalent) which is part of the reason for the difference. Still a fair bit cheaper in the US though.

  • sorry just stealth edited my previous post - meanwhile the 7a is $499/£449

  • i easily get more than a day out of my pixel 6, usually closer to 2 days - depends on how much screen time i guess, but i think the battery life is pretty decent.

  • Battery life is terrible doesn't get a whole day.

Wow - that is bad. I had a cheap 'smart' watch that smashed in an off during slippery week and have just replaced with an Amazfit GTS3. Only a couple of days in but seems to do all I need re fitness/sleep tracking/notifications etc and uses about 10% a day.
Don't have it always on and don't really use the GPS which helps. Just over £100.

  • I wonder why mine is so shit then, some app (maybe tasker) that is constantly running and draining it I guess. Battery usage thing is a bit useless though.

  • Have been using Amazfit products for a while, currently rocking a T-Rex Pro which is great. Wife is only using the Pixel Watch as I get it, as part of the Pixel phone deal.

  • My pixel 6 battery life is good, gets to a second evening no bother if I've not been home that night for a charge. I can run it out in a day if I'm constantly on it but even when I'm not using it much I'm looking at it a few times an hour and it's lasting well.

Something has happened in the last few days... Both myself and my partner have different Pixel phones on different phone networks, yet in the last few days we've both struggled to keep our phone charged and within 1-2 hours of being off a charger the battery empties to the point that the phone shuts down.

The cause of this according to Battery Usage is the Google App which used more than half of all battery in the last few days.

This cannot be uninstalled, but what I've done is force stop it, disable it, and installed Nova Launcher and replaced the Google Home launcher — because disabling the Google app kills the At A Glance, the Search Bar, and various other Google things, yet changing the launcher just means you open that in the web browser and it works fine.

If you're experiencing significant battery drain, swap the launcher, disable the Google App. Our batteries are both back to about 26-30h each, in the past few days it's been about 2h if not constantly charging.

  • I've not experienced this but already use nova on my pixel 6.

  • Cheers. This is helpful.

Has anyone had an issue where there is always one photo/file uploading and never completing? Haven't had a chance to do any proper troubleshooting, but on my OH's pixel 6 it's always there and if I force a stop, etc. it'll just come back later.

  • Anyone with a Pixel 7 Pro want this case for the price of postage/forum donation?

I bought it for a promised upgrade for my work phone that has never materialised and have left it to late to return to BezosCorp.

  • Any decent alternatives to YouTube vanced? It sometimes still works but I'm getting a lot of 'this video will not play on the current version of YouTube, update to use' recently. Going back to YouTube with ads is fucking painful

  • Brave browser seems to remove youtube ads.

Not quite as smooth to use as a youtube app but I'm willing to accept that to avoid ads.

Main issue is I haven't worked out how to use that to open links by default.

  • I cant vouch for this but it's what seemed a natural replacement for vanced. It still works for me so haven't swapped. If you use it be keen to get feedback.

  • So far it's working exactly like og vanced, nice one dude

  • Hmmm saying that it does seem to be buffering a bit more than standard app but I am out in the sticks at the moment. Will carry on with it for the while

  • If it's no good I seem to remember posting a link in this thread to download the last APK for vanced which is the one still working for me.

Good luck - I agree YouTube is basically unusable with ads and their subscription pricing is just stupid.

  • Still available?

  • Just played 2 vids in revanced and they buffered like crazy, both worked absolutely fine on the regular app. Gonna try and uninstall any vanced related stuff and start fron the beginning

  • Still available?

No, I gifted them to my sister

  • Reinstalled it all and was still happening, then got some codey type message about unable to update dislikes, I turned off the 'turn on YouTube dislikes' setting and all seems to be well

  • If it helps the version of vanced that is working for me is 17.03.38 if you want to Google for an apk of that.
