The only other thing I can think of is fitting racks, since it's easier to see a level than a parallel.

could be useful for wrapping bars as well.
my usual hack is to have an elastic hairband that I loop around the valve stem and bottle cage, or a length of double sided velcro tape which I keep on the front rack as it's super useful for loads of things. -

I love my Super C bar bag, but always found it sat far too high on the bars. It's taken me a long time, but finally just moved the mounting plate near the top, now it sits lovely 👌

Got round to the finishing touch to my front light mount.
It’s the bit of steerer that was cut off, with a star nut pushed all the way flush to the end, a thin washer to stop the steerer hitting the fork and it now has a nice top cap and a longer set screw to tie it all together. It looks ok and best of all it was FREE! :D

No chainstay mount option for full mudguard on an inbred, no problem.

Brompton front axle hook bodge. Snapped front hook so it doesn't fold properly. New hook is £10 online. Bodged a nut and bolt then went all fancy and put red heatshrink on the bolt to avoid rubbing on the chainstay.

Could only find one of these FD hanger clamp things in 31.8 for my 32mm tube here, and it was not gonna fly with the gap in it, like 1.3mm or so...
Only thing I could think to do was apply sticky tape a single layer at a time to the concave surface, periodically compressing it by clamping it to a derailer, and then continued for like, ever, until I'd finally built up more than enough, at which point I could trim off the excess and remove just enough layers by trial and error to get it to clamp the tube without leaving a gap in the clamp.
These carbon jobbies work on a pretty fine tolerance. This was a pain in the arse, thank fuck it worked.

I admire the commitment

Didn't have too many other options for a FD clamp... That's a 25mm tubular

Oh, that’s great, that is. Could have done with that solution when I was trying to bodge cantis on to the GT frame I had a while back!

So clever! It should be hosted here for posterity.

What is the hole in the seat collar's original use?
-
• #2818
There's meant to be just a short piece of rod with a threaded hole. It's so the nut can pivot slightly as the clamp tightens instead of the bolt flexing.

It's a good bodge and all but v brakes would be better.

Some folks like cantis... Wonder if they're the same peeps who keep places like this in business: https://www.mindgamesmelbourne.com/

they’re simply good enough for most uses most of the time

And for us world tour riders (commute to work 10 miles each way 5x a week ;D) they are the easiest to fabricate in a backstreet garage in Tibet, out of flat stock, with a file…

First time I've seen backwards Mafac brakes.
I cut a slot in two old canti brake pad mounts, made a little bracket out of scrap alloy and it sits a supernova e3 (heavy) off front and between a front rack very solidly, hasn't moved in two years of abuse
