My camping has gone from what we can carry on bikes to what we can put in the back of our Civic's cavernous boot which has been a real game changer - it's so much nicer with a few home comforts!
However, I've got a thermarest and a thicker standard air mattress type thing and they're not great for someone still in long term recovery from a spine op who isn't getting any younger - I'm a good sleep addict these days...
What's the comfiest possible sleeping pad that doesn't cost too much (probably needs to be a budget option given the cost of decent kit)?
I find a mat on its own too cold so for car camping luxury we use this type of folding camp bed plus a foam mat to block the cold. If I’m feeling super lux I’ll stick my thermarest on as well and snore like a motherfucker.

Don't care too much about weight/size as long as it's not ridiculous and I can easily get it in the boot with other stuff. Something like this?
