It will perform fine, but not really where it's at its best for fuel economy.

What would be good for motorways and supreme comfort on a budget?

a train?

A Lexus barge of some kind.

I couldn’t think of anything less relaxing and expensive

Vauxhall insignia?
The size of the estate must mean it is simply a motorised sofa. I guess they can't hold much value being as desirable as chlamydia.....

An old Jaaaaaaag.
Or a Citroën C5 Tourer. Seriously it absolutely destroys miles in such comfort. -

I once did 400 miles from Barcelona to Santander in a morning to catch a ferry, in a Honda Accord Tourer 2.2 diesel and it used 2/3 of a tank and I got out as fresh as I started. Most comfortable seats in any car I've ever had

I’ve just been on eBay for Citroen c5 estates
If I could find a fairly low mileage I would be all over it.
Honda accord also a great shout.
I’d love a jag but it would always be broken

Citroen C5? Edit - too slow

Saab 9-5 - lovely motorway cars

On a budget, definitely a Honda Accord

Finding a low mileage reasonably new Honda accord is tricky.

I've got a 2018, 1.0 110hp Fabia, which I can't rate highly enough. Motorway driving is refined, the boot swallows a lot and it has Apple/Android connectivity, which is always good.

Thanks. They struggled to find a Fabia to test.
My dad should be picking up an incredibly low mileage 2022 1.0 Polo shortly. Based on the reg plate it's apparently a VW owned car. Idk if that's sales bollocks or not though, but if so the it was a demo or employee car... So probably either well specd or not well spec'd!
Curious to check it out. I can imagine it's probably about the size of a mk3 Golf.

My aunt is waiting for her new 1.0 Polo auto. Looks lovely. Fingers crossed for all the spec!

PD130 A4 B6.
Manual 6 speed with the cruise control and the cloth seats (comfiest seats I have ever had).

My preference is an Audi
-
• #74672
I had a s60 D5 as well and that was also very very very good. Still preferred the Audi though. Both will crack over 50mpg on a run.
I have an E91 now and it's great but you would want an m57 and they are getting pricey. The A4 I had was £450 and was just brilliant. I always have manuals as well so can't comment on anything auto. -

Fingers crossed for all the spec!
Haven't gone through it properly, but it's a merc'd out R Line trim with anthracite alloys and what looks like half-trim alcantara seats.
Rude boy racer grandparents!

Bought my Mini a little blanket for it to sleep in.
I've not gone mental, honest...

Is the Prius a good shout for motorway driving?
