That’s lovely - steel full suspension is very ideal.
I’m looking to get just a fork made. Interested to know if their lead times + shipping to the UK are accurate. Are you’re happy with build quality and communication too? Thank you!

Thanks:) its obviously not the lightest but it feels like it will last forever.
The communication was a bit slow, I had to send them a reminder sometimes to get a reply. But they were very helpful with the design process and the frame actually shipped 1 or 2 months earlier then expected.
The shipping went well, it was packed very well and arrived undamaged. -

That's great to hear. I would definitely go for Steel for an MTB over carbon just for durability reasons alone. Thanks for taking the time to explain!

Bought this in a fit of absence of mind. Wasn’t really planning to get a new frame but these things do happen. Got a grx810 chainset to go on it, ultegra shifters and brakes, and a set of hunt 650bs. Should come out the other side looking not too shit, I hope.

No results known for the steel one, but the carbon one went three times the regulated duration on the fatigue test after the demo video

The advantage of steel is not that it's inherently stronger or tougher, it's that it's usually easier to read the damage from the outside

Might have bought a slightly colourful lugged MTB frame with gilco tubing.

Hope no one gets a headache from the tasteful colours.

I am working on a 90s GT build for my son but could not find any GT branded bars at a sensible price, so I made some.
Some cheap knackered bars from ebay, some spray paint and a vinyl cutter, and well they turned out OK. Could have done a slightly better job with coverage but they look old now, just like the frame. Think they'll work a treat.

Really like this. Would love to have something similar but because my bikes are so big with large head tubes they just look like frankenbikes

Just to preface what I'm about to say I have one of those Niner forks, and I've never snapped a carbon fork blade. I have however snapped three carbon fork steerer tubes. I always think that Niner video isn't really dealing with the real issue for carbon fork durability, which is idiots like me who can't find their torque wrench

That colourway is brilliant. Bring back the late 80's early 90's

Very nice! Gilco tubing is a little different tho, if you want to compare it to a colnago, this is closer to the profiled tubes of an esa Mexico or a super profil. Looking forward to the build :)

I think you need a new project

What is the orange one 3rd from front, please?

Yeah, the video is a gimmick, you're never going to put much load into the most highly stressed part of the fork if you're holding it in your hand. Their point though is sound; if you build a carbon fibre structure well, you'll exceed the strength of a steel analogue well before you reach the same weight as the steel version.

Yeah, it's obviously some kind of oria, as that's what the sticker says.
Build will be what's on my specialized, so not very nice but fun. -

Sounds fun. In case you’re looking for a suitable 1 inch(?) quill stem, I have a very funky pink cinelli high rise stem you could have for free.

Such a good looking frame!
I'm the proud owner of a Marino, what do you want to know?
