looked to me like Cav may have had the speed to challenge for the win if he hadn't skidded. Shit weather to ride a stage in for everyone involved. I thought we'd had a wet spring here but looks like it's everywhere

Yeah, he was swinging left into open road, but back wheel looked like it skipping with his changing direction. Then Dainese took out Cav's front wheel, and Cav bounced around.
Doesn't look like any of it was Cav's fault this time.

Remco is out of the Giro suffering petulance

Dainese relegated

I don’t approve of this. Not sure how you can relegate Dainese for his movement when Cav was flailing around like that behind him.

A rare instance of both too many and not enough painted lines

It wasn’t a great advert for the cause. But I stand by my campaign.
Road markings are painted too thickly and robustly for the sprint lines that Wiggo and I support. We believe they would be better applied in a temporary, chalk paint that does not create a raised surface and does not reduce traction in the wet.

@WillMelling, gosh you’ve created pro cycling’s Guernica!

amazing @ willmelling

Agreed. All well and good watching a slo mo but fact is, Cav by that point was weaving around horribly (not fully his fault of course as he’d skidded) but to expect Dainese to know what was coming is pretty mad.
Remco needs to dust himself off and crack on more and whinge and feel the need to verbalise all of his on-the-spot thought a whole lot less.

Also, don't put your hands through the barriers to take videos...
-
• #44567
What?! He cut across him at a ridiculous angle and took out his front wheel. I thought you wanted sprint lanes to stop people from doing exactly this?
-
• #44568
Ooof - the reply and @ double hit. Boom! Boom! It's a brave call.

You imagine I can still see anything white-lines-don't-do-it posts?

Exactly what I thought, looked like some wrist snapping action

• #44571
Although ironically maybe kept the rider up
-
• #44572
Any news on the rider stretchered off?
Edit;
Andrea Vendrame (AG2R Citroën) went down hard beyond the finish line and was taken to hospital, with his team later announcing that he had suffered a shoulder separation and a wound that requires numerous stitches. -

I think you’re glossing over quite a lot of Cav’s contribution.

He knows I don’t mean it.
LOL
