Did a dirty fit with string and went for a shake down ride to dial it in... ended up dropping the seatpost/ sliding the saddle back.. Couldn't help my self from hitting the same trail in the evening swapping to drops

Stripped the pedal thread on the non drive side while on a ride.. I'm glad it happened after descending down a hill... Noticed it wiggling going up the climb but didn't stop until it started backing out of the hole.... What now?

New crank, although you could try a helicoil first.

Yep new crank

helicoil
That's gonna be hard to find in that size + left hand thread

I've got some somewhere in the workshop, they're made specifically for pedal threads so not too hard to find, might not be helicoil branded.
It's a left crank though so probably easier to just replace it. -

The cranks are old Suntour road 165mm that came with a steamroller complete... Passed down the family line..
Called the shop to find out if it's worth the repair. Would love to upgrade the frame to omniums that came off the vig but have seen clearance issues installed on Pk rippers.. Grinding down those is not an option... Back on my baby for the rest of summer.
I appreciate all your input and trust most info documented on the site... The current project portion is toppps. I would argue Lfgss got Tha Fire

... With the Pk Ripper down, the Norco will be the travel bike to Portugal. It is currently running 39/17 Brakeless.. Should get me up any climb/keep the pace down so I don't take off from my wife LoL!

So I'm heading to Japan in October... Gonna be on the lookout for an njs frame.. Would there be any problems running a standard 120mm back wheel vs 110mm they are originally designed for? Would it have any effect on chainline? I'm not a purist in the sense of using only njs parts....
Any guidance would be appreciated. Here's a pic of my new saddle leveling tool

Nice! Where did you ride? How was it?

It was surreal. Stayed at my wife's grandmas house in Lomba de Sao Pedro, Sao Miguel Island. I rode down to Cascata do Homem everyday we didn't have to travel to run errands and site see. My first ride down scared me so much with the twisty narrow steep roads... I walked 20% of the way but I'm proud to say by the end of the trip I was able to ride the whole way brakeless on the way down... Definitely too steep to ride back up the 25% grade on the 39/17.. Would have been doable with a 19 tooth though. Only place in the world I have visited where you have a waterfall so close to the shore line.. My first instinct was to put my head under the waterfall and then dunk my cycling cap as the waves crashed in the ocean.. My meditation was very enlightening. Was a once in a lifetime trip that will be hard to beat for sure.

Only a few njs frames are 110, most are 120.

@ayrton : I just found out that my stay will be in Tokyo province so I'm on the lookout for a seller to arrange in person pickup... Local Yahoo actions is my main resource. My cousin that I grew up with has been living there for over 20 years.. He owns a white/red decal Nagasawa and we share the same size....
@timmah! : thanks for the heads up.. I've been lurking Njs export to help educate myself on current prices. I'm really liking the idea of a black/ black decal Anchor or something of the like..

If you contact NJS Export via email, they can potentially arrange for you to visit in person and choose from their stocks. It will take some arranging but from experience, it's absolutely doable.

.... If that is the case, I'm ready to pull the trigger on an aurora finish Anchor in my size. They currently have a sale for 20% off on 3 items until the 15th of this month. I won't be able to collect it until October but have no issues with payment up front to hold it for me
Njs, lets go
