• For sale: my lovely Colnago Extreme Power. I havnt used this bike in 3 years other than to replace some parts and make some upgrades(see below). It's hung on my wall and has been a joy just to look at, but I need to buy the kids new bikes and can't justify having it as a piece of wall art!

The frame measures st59cm, tt57cm in Colnago Star Carbon. The seat post is also Colnago carbon with matching seatclamp. This is frame for a big powerful rider, but the complete bike weighs only 7kgs!!! Made in Italy, of course.

The groupset is Dura Ace, but I have replaced the chain, cassette and rear cage. These are new, shiny and have never been ridden. The gears shift smooth as silk. The Chainrings are in very good condition with 1000s of miles still to go.

The wheels are vision t30s on matching hubs. They are extremely light but have never complained under my weight (85kgs).

The stem is Ritchey Carbon, bars are Deda Presa Carbon. The bar tape is new and lovely.

The seat is San Marco Concor in Italian colours. I have not ridden it much but found it comfy. It goes with the bike, as does the nifty bottle cage, also Italian colours.

The Tyres are Conti GranPrix 4000s and have done less than 500miles. They are in very good condition.

I'm asking for £1500 which for a bike of this spec is a steal! The bike is in London and am happy to meet to let you examine it, but am out of town for a few weeks from Friday, so tonight, tomorrow or Thursday would be best. Happy to post, if you are happy with insured postage costs.

I'll try and upload some more pics later. Obviously am happy to take any further measurements or answer any Qs....I really don't want to split, unless I can shift enough it's to take us up to the 1500 mark! Will make contribution to site following sale here.

    Thanks for looking.

  • Beautiful bike, paint code WX07 if I’m not mistaken.

Wish I hadn’t sold mine…sadly this is too big for me.

This is an absolute steal for someone, buttery smooth ride and an original airbrushed Italian frame. These are now appreciating in value.

Good luck with the sale 👍

  • Lovely bike... I have an EPS, the model after, and it contrives to be both utterly smooth and poised, and seriously stiff when you want to get up and go. GLWS!!

  • Thanks both, I appreciate the comments.

Yes it is a beauty, and performs really like no other bike I've ever ridden. The exceptional thing is the way it accelerates - no matter how many times I rode it I was always surprised when I put the pedal down....suddenly being further ahead than I thought I'd be! My present bike is Ti and it's also lovely, but it's a different sensation.

For any interested I can meet early tomorrow or around noon, but will be away from London for a week after that.

  • Yeah, the Extreme Power and the EPS (Extreme Power Super) that followed it were built for sprinters, so they really do go when given some welly.
This gives a good account of the sequence (PDF).

  • That's a great guide! Cheers.

  • Price drop to £1350 to see if I can get this shifted before it goes to the 'Bay!

  • PMed

  • Bike now sold. Thanks to everyone for the interest!
