Nuts!
Watch daylight Rolex heist at luxury Tokyo shop
A video filmed in Ginza, a shopping district in Tokyo, showed a group of masked individuals robbing a luxury watch shop on Monday.
They wielded a knife while inside and threatened to kill the shop's sales clerks - smashing a display and fleeing the scene with stolen goods, Japanese broadcaster NHK reported.
Police say they believe the robbery was committed by three people who fled in a rented van that may have had replacement licence plates. Four arrests have been made in connection with the incident so far.
No steel sports watches were stolen.

Any recommendations for a rubber strap that doesn't look that rubbery (i.e. not like something you'd get with a dive watch) or some other strap that is hard-wearing but doesn't soak up water?

I haven't seen one of these in real life but in pictures they don't seem too rubbery

This is the 2nd moonswatch I've bought from AliExpress.. I did try several times while in London to buy a proper one, but no luck... Quality on this is OK, but not great, doubt it's waterproof.. came with box etc.. just under £30 Inc delivery. Not sure about the bioceramic but it would need to be a good bit better than the plastic I have as it does look quite cheap..

interestingly they have also quietly released the Fabrik range on their site, including the purple GMT - currently available for purchase. £1600ish. im tempted

I can understand the price given the skill and time involved. The problem, if they continue down this road, is going to be that the rest of the watch doesn’t really measure up to the dial. They always opt for the easy full-polished case finishing, the hands are still really basic flat stamped/laser cut metal, Sellita ebauches, single colour pad printed dial etc.

New strap day! Couldn’t quite stomach the hundo for a Molequin one, but found a £30 version on eBay that’s a pretty nice budget alternative. No edge stitching so might fall to pieces before too long, but let’s see…

6k is craaaaaazy ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️ You have to really, really appreciate the hand made nature of the dial and be stinking rich to even consider buying that watch. The watch as a whole is so underwhelming for 6k IMO.

I meant if I actually got a proper one it would need to be of far better quality to justify the £200 price difference..

Cheers. No real surprises so far other than that Thomas is really tuned in to what good typography looks like and cares about getting it right. In my experience that’s relatively rare!
