The Council's preferred tree nursery doesn't stock/grow on medlar or other heritage species or varieties.
Seeking out our inner Baldric, we have a cunning plan. Many members of the RRA have large gardens. We plan to buy medlar and other fruiting trees that are (currently) undersized for a public access common, and grow them on. We hope that healthy trees will grow at least a foot a year, allowing them to join the above 9 on Ruislip Common in years to come.

Clearly HS2 thought the residents of Ruislip were so enamoured of the bubbling brown geyser,
they have 'arranged' for another:

Re-wilding?
Have a look at this.Ruislip Woods National Nature Reserve, amalgamated with the northern end of the
Colne Valley Regional Park, amounts to 1486 hectares!
Still not the 25,000 hectares estimated to be the minimum to support a self-sustaining population of 200 Pine Martens.

Also in Northumberland, especially the Kielder Forest. I'm also hoping for a reply from the Gloucester Wildlife Trust who reintroduced Pine Martens into the Forest of Dean 4/5 years ago.

Unfortunately the gerrymandered constituency of Uxbridge & South Ruislip does not include Ruislip proper.
A big unknown is whether the by election will be held when all those Brunel university students are still on campus.

LBHillingdon draft Cycling Strategy.
The RRA, (Ruislip Residents' Association), submission,
including the recommendation of setting up a Hillingdon Cycling Forum
to 'nudge' our Council to removing some of the reds from the latest LCC review.

All good but what about the medlars?
