• I love em. The crossovers are adjustable too so you can tweak them to taste / the room. Mine are the OG 1978 version, albeit completely refurbed and upgraded. Velocio’s are the newer re-issue so depending on which you’re looking at you could have a listen to mine too. We’re in Hackney.

  • They were not on my shopping list until I heard a pair. They were beyond budget until I saw a shop selling a new pair that a customer had turned down at a very sizeable discount.

    I prefer the Tannoys with a power amp rather than a valve, something about the speakers being a little warm lent itself to the precision of a power amp.

    I agree in general with the comment that they're good at all sound levels, but this isn't totally true as at the lower levels they lack a bit of life and punch... I couldn't have stepped down to smaller Tannoys without jumping too small though, but the 10" drivers on the Eaton's do a good job covering most sound levels really well in the large living room I have. I rarely drive them anything near where they'd be comfortable going. I only aim for 60-70db, for a folk singer to sound like they are present in the room rather than amplified.
