  • The answer is always Jazz..

  • Anyone been to Tottenham Hale recently? The interesting cars on spindon street have all gone. Such a shame.

  • So who knows where this is.

  • The answer is always Jazz..

If the question is “Recommend a car where someone will almost certainly steal the catalytic converter and effectively write the car off?”, unfortunately

  • effectively write the car off

Replaced the cat, o2 sensor and middle pipe on our 10 plate jazz for about £300 when ours got done. Did the work myself but it's by no means a write off considering the availability of non oem parts.

JAZZ TIL I (or the car) DIE(s)

  • I'll suggest it, but as they do regular very long journeys I think they'll want something with a bit more motorway sound deadening/etc.

This is why it's hard to beat the Golf in this category I guess. It's just a great balance of size, comfort, etc.

  • Yes, my bad, probably true for a jazz - I am still bitter from getting rinsed when my frv got done

  • You are right, I'm always a grass is greener type when I'm bored or trying to ignore other pressing needs (new windows).

Love driving the car and will run it till at least winter. I need to at least get some wear out of the new cross climate tyres $$$$

I think an A6 All road with air suspension is probably the answer in the future

In other news, don't put wheel cleaner on if your neighbour is about to chat your ear off for 30 mins, calipers look like rusty crap now.

  • Any advice about cleaning car seats without specialist equipment? I do not have a wet/dry hoover etc.

  • Lots of microfiber cloths.

You can clean the upholstery without saturating it, just using an upholstery cleaner and some gentle brushing. Microfiber cloths then to soak up the dirt and leftover liquid. A bit of air drying of the rest is all you need.

  • Any hints on what upholstery cleaner is best?

  • Most car based stuff is much of a muchness. I think the stuff I have is Chemical Guys. Or Auto Glym. Not sure. I don't use it much. There are lots of reviews out there for various things. I think it depends on if you are doing spot cleaning or want to do a more general clean.

  • It’s a general clean. I have some water stains on the back seat. And various marks etc like makeup and chocolate. The car is old and the upholstery shows signs of wear but I don’t think spot cleaning will work as it will leave a clean spot on the seats.

  • Mmmm I’m not that keen on it tbh. Definitely one of Honda’s poorer efforts

  • everyone knows you can't clean a car

  • Channeling my inner jake peralta. Brooklyn 99 is my guilty pleasure

  • I know I can’t

  • Best paying a professional valet?

  • Possibly. If it is that bad - chocolate and make up - then that may require stronger cleaner and better tools than spot cleaning.

  • Got a steam cleaner?

  • I’ve never understood why I like it so much. I’ve just always thought it was cool.
