I have as place at L'eroica Montalcino at the end of the month, so thought it might be nice to build this up accordingly and take it out with me.
Given work / life / parental responsibilities I don't have a great deal of spare time at the moment, so may well fail, but thought I'd give it a go.
The incredibly expensive rubber tape from 3M arrived:
Which I used to fashion a seatstay protector:
During the coronation, I popped out to Temple Cycles on Brick Lane and picked up a pair of fetching bidons:
There has been a bit of 'overspray' in couple of areas. I couldn't get a bolt through the seat pin lug. In the end, I had to wrap some emery cloth around a chopstick and carefully remain the excess paint. All worked out well in the end:
Had a similar problem with the steerer tube and spent a fair bit of time yesterday carefully sanding the inside of the tube so I could get fit the handlebars.
This morning I started to fit a bottom bracket, but felt I was applying more force than was wise, so have taken the frame to my LBS to have the bottom bracket shell tapped and faced. Hopefully it'll be done soon, and if the rain holds off I may make a bit more progress later today.
