• Going to Buckingham Palace and need somewhere to eat after.

    Criteria:

    1. Not one of those shit expensive places you get (or used to) near Trafalgar Square
    2. Accessible with two small kids - so bus or not an insaine walk
    3. Small kid friendly - both price and food options. Eldest will eat absolutely anything. Youngest is more fussy, but still OK. It's more speed and the carnage they can bring.
    4. Open today
    5. Oh yeah gluten free options

Chinatown feels like a bit much, both finding somewhere and the journey. That massive mall in Victoria with Nandos, Wagamama, etc.? Was hoping for something more exciting, but we could play our way through St. James and get to the shopping centre.

    Any bright ideas appreciated.

    Cheers.

  • There's a food hall type place in Victoria which might suit everyone?

    https://markethalls.co.uk/venue/victoria/

  • Victoria Market Hall has better food than Nando's and Wagamama - there's a Roti King there and and some other decent options and it's very close.

The Institute of Contemporary Arts on The Mall has/had a really good bistro as well.

The cafe in St James's Park is a Benugo or one of those other expensive ones, so overpriced but with decent sandwiches etc and bonus pelicans.

  • The Cafe at Park Sports Hyde park is a good spot mainly because you have the fancy gardens behind to sit in and it's never as busy as the rest of the park. it's not even showing as a cafe on the map but we often go there when in that part of town as we hate crowds and it's less hectic than all the other spots in the park.
the coffee is decent enough too.
