  • Mr Bicycle Diaries himself

  • Those fenders could be more functional, maybe better placed in the Bikes @ Functions thread?

  • Readers.

  • This is mine and I think it's rather functional.
    Pink Electra fenders to come.

  • Touring mode engaged. First trip away with the BigXTop bar bag instead of a Super C bar bag, so looking forward to that.

  • The front paniers look a bit too close to the ground?

  • thats a good thing no?

  • Think the photo is deceptive, as the pocket poking out makes them look closer to the ground.

I swapped out a pizza rack for the Tara to get them a bit lower for handling purposes.

  • Finally got my hands on a Clydesdale fork. I actually have a 50% stake in another Tunturi Rock'n Road cargobike that me and my friend modded into a cycletruck. This is better though as the handlebars don't hit the cargo when turning.
Nothing special otherwise, partsbin build with a touch of dumpster finds and shiny new dynamo front wheel.

P.S. I still can't understand how bikes without fenders make into this thread. I'd rather have a dry arse and a backpack than grinding sand between my Levi's and my Flite and having a rack.

  • Not really , I find it difficult to gauge street furniture, and off road it s very easy to misjudge the depth of rut and scrap the bottom.
    The second photo is reassuring.

  • That's a pretty UK centric view ... In South Australia you don't really need to optimise for the rain

  • I'm not from the UK. But ok, I can kind of accept your point.

  • Yeah, I admit, that was a bad way to put it.

  • Exposure Joystick.

  • Who would have thought a London centric view would be found on the London FGSS forum?

  • Oh I get it. But I'd like to point out that there are dry places to ride. Also: massive prawns. Five times the size of a normal one.

  • I would love to live somewhere dry.

  • I forgot "mostly". It rains here too. But the prawns are really big I swear.

  • Can't put a price on quality of life

  • Lovely clydesdale!

I can't understand why you'd want something functional without mudguards. So far all my bikes have ended up with guards.
And I feel the same way about dynamo lighting.

And since we got the bullitt I'm thinking about putting Alfine 11 and belt drive on all of my bikes.

  • Someone could have a functional summer bike. Where I am a lot of people aren't riding through the whole winter.

  • My new commuter... fast & functional!
