which way up have you got the pentaclip? with saddle rails at the bottom? if it can be flipped that would easily buy you 20+mm?
(I say this because I'm about 530mm seatpost collar to seat rails & I thought I was about 20/30mm too long for an extended seatpost. the telescopic is great but is also an absolute boatanchor)

Ah good idea! Didn't realise the pentaclip could be flipped. Will take a look, thanks!

Following on from earlier, does anyone want to sell a rear bag that will fit the rack?

Aliexpress do some copies last time I looked.

If that’s no luck, I use the Lomo 15L motorbike/cycle rack waterproof bag: https://www.lomo.co.uk/products/15l-dry-bike-motorbike-tail-bag/
Which is a pretty good fit and a fair bit cheaper than a Brompton specific offering! It’s not made to measure for sure, but then is cheaper

What’s the consensus on best tires?
The kojaks that came on my second hand one are horrible, and now really cut up…

Marathons or nothing.

Second vote for the Conti contact urbans. Seem to be holding up well even taking in some gravel across Hampstead Heath without cutting up at all. Tanwall too

• #13463
That is a great deal… but not tanwall which is about 20kph faster….

I have a Brompton saddle up for grabs. Used maybe once before I swapped it out. I'm in Leyton, you can have it for a forum donation.

Yes please!

Check the width for heal strike. Any wider than the frame rollers is a recipe for disaster IME so if it’s the sorted make sure it can fit taper to seatpost.

This popped up on my feed, a little large but food for thought:

h thanks, will have a look

I hadn't seen that one, apparently it's an upgrade. The old one is great though and looks similar. It fixes slightly differently, I would want to see if that's an improvement.

Any s stem and flat bars for sale?
-
• #13475
Flat bar yes, stem no.
I'm struggling with the extended seatpost on my Brompton as it's not quite long enough. It's 600mm in total, but after deducting the minimum insert and pentaclip mount at the top results in an effective seatpost height of 470mm.
I only need about another 20/30mm of extension so would rather avoid going down the telescopic route. Does anyone have any recommendations for extended seatposts which have an effective length (i.e. from seatpost collar to saddle yoke) of around 500mm?
