where I saw Mussolini branded wine
That was a thing in Italy, certainly back in the 1990s. There was a cafe/shop at the top of the Falzarego pass that sold 20th century despot branded wine, so Mussolini, Hitler, Stalin, Mao etc. Presumably it was meant as a novelty that tourists would buy to take home.

Yeah, it may have been indeed. It felt strange though, sitting in a pizzeria with a table next to ours pouring it in their glasses. Well, there's always an antidote to the right wing Verona ..... Bologna.

Hilarious vid in the Denys Davidov telegram channel with drunk Russians trying to throw a hand grenade. Arguably NSFW, but no serious injuries as far as I can tell.

Earlier in the war there was evidence that Russia was using minefield clearing equipment to destroy Ukrainian cities, but Ukraine have captured so many vehicles they are now using the same tactic on Russian positions in Bakhmut.

8/10 propaganda video. Points deducted for contextually silly, if hopeful, guitar strumming, and for poor messaging choice on “(and) for what?”, which is additionally used when something fails miserably.
Would’ve deducted points for their chosen hashtag, also referencing an abysmal failure; and not building up a war-like sentiment with the video.

In October 2021, for instance, classified design details about the French Leclerc tank were posted to win an argument about turret rotation speed.
Bloody geeks 😂

Months later Russian tank columns are STILL being blown up in Vuhledar. Putin is systematically disarming the Russian army.

Also interesting to read that the bombing of Belgorod was due to mechanical failure and not pilot error.

Question about the Belgorod bomb, it seemed to explode quite a while after it landed and quite deep , was is some sort of anti runway bomb?

Someone suggested it was an FAB-500M-62 - a russian take on jdam (adding wings to 'dumb' bombs). But supposedly the fins didn't engage properly so instead of gliding to a school/hospital/other, it just fell on the ground.

Reuters* story about Russian anti-assault defences as their website #1 today.
They’ve built hundreds of miles of anti-tank trenches, dragons teeth, and zigzagged infantry trenches, stretching from inside Russia down the west of Ukraine.
They shouldn’t be underestimated. The Ukrainians have a hard, hard nut to crack now.

Are any of you guys watching that Nordic documentary series about Russian spying ships? IIRC one ship spent three days lurking around the wind turbine park closest to London.

"Russia is on the brink of catastrophe," says Prigozhin, and he is now threatening to withdraw from Bakhmut.

"... part of the units will be forced to withdraw from this territory, and then everything else will collapse,"
This is the only interesting part of his statement I reckon. What is 'everything else' and how little or much must happen before Prigozhit can call it a 'collapse'. Sure, the Russians may have seen their last significant advance in this war, but even without the Wagners the regular Russian f0rces could prove to be difficult to chase out of Ukraine entirely – as per the Reuters article posted above.

Kremlin blaming the US and Ukraine for ‘attack’ against Putin personally.
Any cultural or other insight? Has Putin completely lost it? Could it have been a false flag, or a coup attempt? Would this incident galvanise Russians against Ukraine, or would it sow fear and make Putin look weak?

Perhaps that crystal glass I was drinking from told me....seriously no idea. Went to Verona few times back in 80s, a friend was in uni in Padua and as Venice is not really young people friendly city we sometimes went to Verona just for a change in scenery. It was there where I saw Mussolini branded wine......if you move half of population out, it would be lovely indeed.
