  • I think the soil starts to solidify around 250mm down so it should be pretty sturdy.

    Jobs list is currently:

    1. Add 1 height of sleepers to bed
    2. Mark out play area
    3. Remove / skip turf
    4. Remove top soil to bed being full
    5. Skip the rest down to 200mm
    6. Level off with sand / membrane
    7. Fit a base of some sort - by this point, I should have a really good idea of how solid the ground is / how wet the soil was etc to make a call
    8. Build play thing
    9. Fill the rest with chips
    10. Lie down

Better than watching some rich cunt get his ceremonial hat though.

  • Sounds like a solid plan. I somehow have to stop mini_com seeing the one I'm building until the next day. Which seeing the first thing we do is go into the back patio on the bike when I bring her home from the childminder, is going to be tricky. I'll either have to cover it with a tarp and brush the million "why?" questions. Or drop her in the front door to ms_com while I take the bike round the back. Again, more "why?"
