  • Changed the blade on the Aldi/Ferrex 10" bandsaw to something finer and finally got the guide bearings all adjusted properly. Needed to take the table fully off to work it out, but now I know which nut does what, I could probably do it without removing in future. Sooo nice to have a bandsaw that doesn't wander, make a racket or leave a ragged edge. I also bought a planer/thicknesser which I've wanted for ages. Only used the jointer part so far but it's awesome.

All that allowed me to build a mini Adirondack chair in a morning for my daughter out of left over pressure treated 1x6 that I bought too much of when building the planters.

Plans were printed out from a free download, cut out on the bandsaw, straightened on the jointer (as well as a pass for the timber faces to remove the rough cut finish), most parts given a round over with the router, sanded then glued with Titebond III and screwed. It will probably be painted to match her playhouse which is being delivered next week.

I might also experiment with printing the plans out at 150% as I like the design better than the big chair.
