And the proportions on the 41mm DJ make the watch look fake.

Been away for a bit, but nice to come back to birthdays and betrothals - congrats @Bainbridge and @leggy_blonde !
@Bainbridge - the EZM3 you bought from me was actually the watch i picked up after selling my moonwatch, so you're doing my watch history in reverse (and obviously better) order :)

At the opposite end of the scale to some of the high end watches posted here. I settled on my beater watch for work. I went for a Casio w-800. Budget mini G-Shock? £22.50 posted.

On the subject of G-Shocks, new line of fitness watches with heart rate monitor, step counter, solar charging and the MIP screen in a 5600 case. Nice formula.

Never had a G-Shock but I really fancy the MIP display, and that + solar + USB could push me dangerously close to the edge.

Do you know what the battery life is likely to be like on these?

From G-Central:
The watch battery is rechargeable with the included proprietary USB cable or by solar. This is not a “Tough Solar” watch, so it cannot be fully powered by solar if all the functions are used regularly, but the time display can be driven by solar alone. The wired charging time is approximately three hours, and a full charge will last about a week when used for about one hour per day, according to Casio. On a full charge without further solar charging, the watch will run for about 35 hours in activity mode with the heart rate monitor on. In watch mode with the heart rate monitor turned off, the battery life is approximately one month, and with power saving on, it is about 11 months.
Also worth noting that it is larger than a regular 5600/5610:
The DW-H5600 is slightly larger than the basic DW-5600, but it is one of the more compact G-SQUAD models. The DW-H5600 with a full resin bezel measures 51.1 x 44.5 x 17.4 millimeters and weighs 59 grams. The models with a hybrid resin and stainless steel bezel (DW-H5600MB) are a little thinner at 16.6 millimeters and weigh 65 grams. (In comparison, the basic DW-5600 measures 48.9 x 42.8 x 13.4 mm and the similarly shaped G-SQUAD GBD-200 measures 48.4 x 45.9 x 15 millimeters.)

I keep meaning to put my name on the rolex list in Geneva, but honestly, I find myself just wearing my apple watch all the time now (sads... but it's so useful)

I won't be. Perfect watch. What is the reference? For research. Looks a bit soft around the edges though maybe? As in polished?

Geneva
Wait, you've moved to Geneva? How long you been there? How's things?

It’s not the sharp GS case. The reference is SBGV011 which is a reissue of the original self dater, I think?
Just picked it up for a mate, no end link gaps here for sure.
I said it before and I’ll say it again - 6 digits don’t do much for me at all (although the quality is fantastic).
