• Not posted on here for a while. Managed to escape work and give the Mash a shot with some risers. I know, needs grips. Fantastic bike to ride though! T

  • Lovely build, looks dreamy to ride. Champ grips would probably work well but ESI's are my favourite if you haven't tried them.

  • Nice bag! I’m still using a pac designs bag daily.

  • Thanks mate. Super light at 6.5kg and stiff af, really shifts. Cheers for the suggestion, will look into them. Found my ODI grips w BMW bartends so piped them on for now..

    @HousecatHST
Thanks mate! PAC are amazing, had one for five years prior to BRP. Still really want one of their backpacks but never seem to get my hands on one..

  • Strong-V’s are also a good shout if you’re after long grips.

  • @tomsvoboda Would you say that frameset is stiff AF to the point of being uncomfortable? Always fancied one for longer distances.

  • Cheers mate. Aye they’re good grips, have them on the beater and can’t fault them.
Hmm so yes I’d say it’s very stiff and definitely aggressive. Carbon post and saddle do help. Not sure I’d do huge distances on it (Ariel Atom vs Bentley ;) ) but I’m 40 and less fit than ever before! If you’re ever down this way or vice versa you’re more than welcome to try it. Could maybe even convince me to sell it as I’ve just never found anything that suited as well as the V1! T

  • It’s been a bit of a while since I last updated here namely due to moving jobs and all my bikes being stashed at my bro’s whilst I’m at the other end of the country. Anyways, here’s my ‘new’ beater for Glasgow. Stripped and rebuilt, ready to go! Cheers. T

  • selling the AC-3 frame ? interested if so

  • I saw that AC-3 in the flesh. Hot as hell and light as a kite.

  • Hey there. Hmm potentially. It’s at my bro’s though and not sure when I’ll be down next. Can keep in touch about it though?
@lesterama many thanks, kind words. Hope all well with you and having fun w the bikes :) your track bikes are all awesome, really good taste. T

  • Thanks Tom. I got Geoff Roberts to stick new dropouts on the Ron Cooper and track the frame. Enjoying tinkering slowly with many, many projects.

  • So thought I’d post a few pics from a few days in Japan.. Unfortunately didn’t have time to find any NJS shops..
BMW’s are not dead.. in fact I’ve never seen this many in one shop. Nor as cheap.
S75 cranks actually cost more in Japan than at home.
They love carting dogs about in prams.
    A 5 door Integra DC2 Type R does exist.
Everyone has cool cars in Kyoto…

  • Bungees to restrain the Shiba Inu like a dodgy front rack!

  • Ah when were you there? I was there early May but avoided Kyoto this time. I actually found a few bargains on this trip but generally speaking track stuff is still really expensive. Dog ownership in general seems a bit off and Yokohama has the best cars!

  • Welcome to glasgow.

  • So the Moots has (almost literally) risen from the ashes of brothers cottage where it spend a very long time.
Currently I’m riding it to dial things in, feels good..
Eventually will need a full tear down and rebuild but everything works as it should right now.
I’ve also come to the decision that parts will be swapped out not to necessarily be of the highest spec but to be solid, work well and have decent longevity.
The R8000 shifters, for example, are fantastic and take a beating. They shift beautifully and the cable brakes are spot on. Hence they’re keepers.
So with that in mind here’s a slow burning shopping list. The first two are to finalise all contact points..
    Cranks (probably Praxis Zayante 165mm)
    Stem (0deg 90mm so possibly Easton EA90)
    GRX 2x11 rear derailleur
New cables namely compressionless brake ones
Updated brake pads once these go…
In the long run some nice rims and hubs..

  • Great bike. Needs some better photos! Good to meet you very briefly yesterday, hope your trip home was nice and smooth.

  • Such a random hello but a pleasure meeting you and again, great bike you have :) hope the cycle went well too. Got home safe thanks and managed to get out today on the Moots. So dark in Ayr today it’s ridiculous, I’ll get better pics once the bike gets smartened up a bit more. Cheers! T

  • Collected this today for my GF. Super light and very cheap. Only catch it’s been sitting for a long time so all bearings are done and the grease has settled into a rock hard layer on everything. A DT barrel adjuster has snapped in the guide so that’s tomorrow’s job.. otherwise it’s all in a degreaser/crap dissolver and a big shopping list to go with!

  • Cooked the broken barrel out. Frame is beautiful and not far off new. Trying to dissolve the rock hard oil/mud on the derailleurs is a bigger nightmare than thought! T
