I find the froome situation puzzling. On one hand after the injuries he suffered making it back to the world tour peloton is impressive, I am sure there are plenty of normal people who have had accidents like that and found themselves struggling just to live a normal life. On the other hand the after effects of that crash added to ageing means he is never going to get back to anything like the form he once had. Why is he continuing to race? Surely 4 years on from his crash he is no longer getting paid huge amounts of money to ride?
I think he's the only person generating much media interest for that team right now too. That said, I would assume he'll announce his retirement some time this year
