The nice thing about the WRP is that it's instant engagement rather than pushing through 12 degrees of dead rotation before you get some drive, which I think (seems!) to be a significant advantage, although IDK if that's going to translate on the trail.
I find when riding uphill I really really want instant engagement. Downhill I'm often in the wrong gear. What would be nice if a gearbox that reads speed and adjusts gear automatically based on some user defined inputs on rations.
