Hey all, just to say that the bike is on hold pending a visit to check it over. Will update the thread next week depending on outcome. Thanks for the interest.
Its time to concede that I’m never going to dance up climbs. But someone can. Selling my Trek Emonda SL.
As the middle-child in the Emonda range, this is not the super high end race version; but with a sub-1kg frame weight including an easy-to-use ISP (a particular bug-bear after dealing with spacers on a Look 595), and set up tubeless; this build is under 7kg and rides like it.
I had it re-cabled and a new rear-mech, cassette, chain, bar-tape and cockpit fitted. Frame is in near immaculate condition bar a small patch of wheel rub on the inside of a chain-stay. I think it is the best looking paint job on this model too!
It is the 2019 rim-brake model, so features Bontrager Direct Mount calipers.
Spec is as follows:
2019 Trek Emonda SL, 500 OCLV carbon, 54cm
SRAM Force 22 Groupset
Chainset – 52/36, 172.5mm
Cassette – SRAM PG-1170, 11-30t
Bontrager Speed Stop Pro Direct mount brake calipers, w. Swiss-stop pads
Cyrano R3 stem (120mm) and R3 Chameleon bars (42cm)
Hunt Aero-wide 31mm wheels
Continental 5000TL 28mm tyres
Specialized Toupe 143 saddle
In terms of fit, the bike is a tiny smidge too small for me at 5’11’’. That said, I think the sizing on these is relatively versatile due to what Trek call the H2 fit (apparently means they ride a bit more ‘endurance’ than out and out race bike – not that it felt that way to me).
The bike is in great condition all round, but in complete transparency, has scuffs on both levers – one from a wall, the other from a bike-drop which has also left the front wheel slightly out of true. Frame has been checked by a local mechanic/ ex-racer and is structurally spot-on; though you are more than welcome to view in and confirm. Selling w.out pedals.
The bike is in SE23; feel free to PM me if you’d like any more details or wanted to take a look. I’d like £975 given the new parts; let me know if I’m off the mark with the price.
