  • Our Center's first name is Juice and our new WR goes by Tank.

    "Bobby Trees." "Animal" Pierce. "CJ"

Getting strong A-Team vibes from our offense for 2023.

  • Dreams do come true!

I would have preferred the one about me winning Euro millions but I’ll take what I can get.

  • well as a person in SF, we're fucked. but 49er's aren't really SF 49ers any more.
    dunno who to support.

  • Nice piece by the NFL on Derick Hall. He looks like a good pick up by the Seahawks and I bet Pete will make him great.

  • MFW we pick up line backers and D tackles in the later rounds Another WR would not go amiss either.

One linebacker and a nice edge rusher added today. I am hoping for some interesting additions tomorrow with an emphasis on D Tackles, some O-line depth and one or two more offensive projects. Last year was a very good draft & this year's has been great.

@cornelius_blackfoot - D'Andre Swift traded to the Eagles for some late round pick swaps. He should be really good in Philly.

  • Well, another Center, a WR, a safety and an interesting LB from Alabama. Our UDFA list is mostly more of what was drafted, Center, WR, Edge alongside a RB, another DB and strangely, a Punter.

It has been a really good draft after a brutal few of years. I think that strange feeling I have is hope.

  • Trading swift makes the RB pick at 12 make more sense.. getting hooker to rehab and then back up goff for a season or two, makes good sense. And there’s some back and forth over the TE pick in terms of if Laporta is better than the other TE’s left on the board, but the branch pick seemed a no brainer.
Lions overcoming an odd first round to make out like bandits later on and position themselves for a decent season and possible playoff run..

  • Interesting chats with some of the top prospects. Will Anderson Jr., Stroud, Bijan, and Brian Branch. I love the more open chat style of interviews.

I love Bijan. Watching him at UT, he really reminds of Ricky Williams. My grandfather was a UT alum, both for undergrad and med school and a huge UT fan. He introduced me to college football, I remember watching the Doug Flutie that hail-mary against Florida with him. He would have loved Bijan.

  • New season’s getting close and the man crush on Dan campbell and the hopes that the lions build on last seasons late run are greater than ever..

    Lions article in the athletic
    https://theathletic.com/4789785/2023/08/24/dan-campbell-lions/?source=user_shared_article

Talking about the kind of players they are looking for and what they need to improve to win te division/make the playoffs.. and this quote from campbell makes me like him even more..

“Campbell, a third-round pick of the New York Giants in 1999, played tight end during his decade in the league before getting into coaching. He has first-hand experience diagnosing a successful locker room makeup.

“If you’ve got pride about the way you play and about your own team, that’s how you should go into games,” Campbell said. “I’ve been around the game long enough as a player and as a coach to know the type of guys I would want to play with. That’s kind of what I’ve always thought about: Who were the best teammates I ever had? Guys who, if you were doing a checklist, you could have your all-NFL team, all-career team that you played with. Who would you get? But also know they can’t just be like me. I didn’t have the talent. If you have a bunch of me’s, you’re going to get your butt whipped. You need to have some ability.”

  • Watching hard knocks and am surprised by how much I’m liking Aaron Rodgers, who come across as just a good guy.
Lots of problematic statements and actions from Rodgers in the past, but his appearances in this show, show him to be compassionate, funny, chill, amenable just generally a cool dude.

  • Really? I think he is incredibly try hard and desperate to be heard. Makes me feel sad for him... there was a clip in episode 2 where he repeated the same comment to about five people until they acknowledged him.

He should be coming off as the mentor and senior hand but he seems to be desperate for the attention still.

  • Really? Just felt like someone wanting their zinger to be appreciated.
I had a negative view of him and seeing him in this show has changed that.
Him speaking to players/refs/coaches, engaging with younger players, goofing around, taking the piss, made him more human/relatable in my eyes.

  • Quarterbacks on Netflix is a good watch too. I’m 4 episodes in and Homie’s brother hasn’t made an appearance yet.

On the other hand I thought the Tim Tebow / Urban Meyer doc was very disappointing.

  • Yeah that urban meyer Florida doc seems like an exercise in trying to rehabilitate meyers coaching reputation. Lots of storylines that aren’t mentioned in the doc, that would have been so interesting to find out more about from the people in the centre of it.

  • Yesterday was the last Sunday without NFL Football until the end of February.

  • We did our fantasy draft yesterday. That proper put me in the mood for football - even tempted to stay up late on Thursday.

  • First season without Rodgers. 😬

The only football I’m currently looking forward to is our Wembley trip @Aroogah.

  • First season without Rodgers. 😬

No No. He's just a Jet now.

At worst you'll be 2nd in the division. You are stronger than Da Bears and the Vikings are due a regression to mean version of Kirk Cousins.

I figure we may end up ahead of the Colts but close behind the Titans. Jags I think will go deep into the playoffs.

    Predictions of Division winners

    AFC East - Bills
    AFC North - Ravens
    AFC South - Jags
    AFC West - Chiefs

    NFC East - Eagles
    NFC North- Lions
    NFC South - Atlanta
    NFC West - 49ers

Atlanta are the most intriguing team for me this year. They are going to be pounding the running game - they will be a 90s throwback and I am all for that. Bijan is going to be great to watch.

  • Oh yeah. And new Texans uniforms from April of next year. New colourways and branding changes.

    Go Rainbow Cows!

  • Big call on the fake punt by Dan campbell in his own 20. Lions roll down the field for a touchdown.

  • Went to bed at halftime with the score close and not knowing if the lions could get it done.
Woke up to watch the highlights to see they did get it done. Tight game looked like it could have gone either way.
2nd half the kelce safety blanket not there for mahomes and lots of dropped passes from the receivers especially toney meant this one got away from them.
But the lions going into arrowhead and getting it done. Showing that the hype is real, at least for week one..
Wonder if chris jones gets his money now..

  • That result certainly weeded out a lot of people from my Survivor game.

  • Just watched the highlights. Jawaan Taylor was false starting all game. Only took them 4 quarters to throw the flag.

Good for the Lions. Really glad to see them go into the cauldron of KC and emerge victorious.
