Car appreciation... the aesthetics, the engineering, etc

Battling against my mum trying to get her to go back to the insurers on the valuation for my old mini - cat B. 44,800 miles 2010

Does this seem like a piss take;

• car was smashed early in the morning
  
• knocked into a cycle lane causing an obstruction
  
• was taken away later that day
  
• car has OEM roof rails and roof box
  
• insurers have said that she's welcome to drive out to Rochford to collect the bars and box.
  
  

Idk why but that box comment has really got under my skin.
