Also a reasonable 42mm

It’s the industry-standard 40mm I think.
£850 isn’t a particularly low price for a steel watch on rubber strap with an SW-200. The titanium one with full bracelet and chronometer certification is nearly twice the price (which is probably well justified).

Happy Friday all btw. Had the chance to check out the W&W sample of the hand-engraved platinum-cased SBGZ009 last night.

And thoughts from the resident GS influencer? Touch of the Rollie DD bark thing from the 70s IMO.

I almost asked why it still got clingfilm on it.

Yeah, I think it's a callback to some of the '70s GSs which had engraved or hammered cases, which were very Rolex-influenced. They've done a few watches like this in recent years.
Not sure if I like it per se, probably not really overall. The craftsmanship is nice (white gold hands and markers, hand engraved logo, text and minute markers on the dial, and the Micro Artist movement finishing is beautiful) but it sort of looks like someone put a noise filter over a regular watch.
Also it's a slightly odd contrast between the very deep engraving of the case and the shallower stamped texture of the dial.
Sixty-seven-and-a-half grand though. [whistles]

Today I'm wearing one of my older watches. I've been trying (mostly failing) to get into watchmaking as a hobby, this is one of the watches that has come apart and somehow ended up back together with all it's parts in tact.
There are many that haven't survived, and will probably become donors for other "repairs".

Would look good poking out of the Cucinelli quarter zip at Davos though.

That looks so bad imo like someone had a go with a Dremel

That case looks a bit like someone’s fallen off their bike and given it road rash.

Tried on the Tudor 54 yesterday but didn't take any photos. Size and height is just perfect. Bit over the whole gilt thing myself, I understand it's in line with the original.
Everything else about it I really, really like, rivets aren't ideal but can be easily ignored. They'll do so well with it. I'm gonna wait to see if they bring out any other colour variations down the line.
They have one in Battersea Power Station Tudor boutique if anyone's passing through, to try on that is. -

The mad thing is they fully zaratsu polish it before the engraver goes at it.

That's what I thought. Perfect watch to wear bike racing 😆

They also had one at DMR in Canary Wharf, demo only. Definitely a lovely watch!

Not sure you'd want the weight penalty from the platinum

• #71620
Looks like it got stuck under a car wheel

• #71621
True, I’d want the leftover platinum shavings in a little pot for the asking price.

Shaped with a bastard file.... Can't help but think that it would work better on a more blocky, tonneau cased watch

Helson for me today, on lotus racing colour strap.
Pen for additional brass goodness

Textured cases like that remind me of 70's gold dress watches.

And cling film over it.
(disclaimer: not specifically aimed at you, but I'm sure you know that. I'm not aiming it anyone specifically, just the CW naysayers in general)
$995 is an insane price for a well made watch
9.9mm thick is tiny too!
