I thought they were all Corsas.
Glad it all worked out.

why you shouldn't do nearly twice the speed limit
Oh boy, here comes the thrilling tale at race pace!
Was easily doing 35
Not quite the Need For Speed breakneck velocity I was expecting, must have lost them in the back alleys
least exciting chase ever
I'll wait for it to drop on Netflix, not going to the cinema for this one

Any grey, black or dark coloured vehicles with tinted windows. Estate Peugeot’s, I30’s, Focus, Big beemers, and black Volvo’s.
Glad you’re all good.

Yeah - not exactly fast and the furious. It's so easy to double the speed limits now everything is a 20mph.
Film rights are still available surprisingly.

You utter Barnstaple, (great auto correct) twice the speed limit, hanging is to goo for em.
Also you were less than a mile from a cute kitten sanctuary...and god kills a really cute kitten every time you speed.

Yeah, from memory, your bike can pass the national speed limit in first.
No, shouting out you'll never take me alive copper and wheelie down the road. Adding don't you know who I am....

I presume you weren't wearing your GS-approved 'polite' vest then? Seriously though, always good to be reminded to keep speeds down, especially in built up areas. Pleased they were reasonable and all turned out okay.

Damn, I couldn't live in London anymore..... Between 20 limits in the city and the average speed scameras, I'd be in the Scrubs in no time.

I was not. I’m sure they would have just assumed I was off duty plod and given me an escort home.
I was definitely driving like a prick so fully deserved them pulling me over and was pleasantly surprised when they just gave me a warning.

Careful eh. Only takes someone else jumping lights and you might never make it home.
Lesson learned.

So I got doored the other day. Police wouldn't come out as no one was harmed, so police report placed.
I've asked my broker to claim on the other persons insurance. They referred me to their claims company, which I am 100% not happy with. I didn't like their attitude or how pushy they were in terms of assessment/storage/hire vehicle. They also had far too many ultimatums for me.
I looked them up, they have an abysmal track record with questionable methods. The damage to the bike is minimal. Plastics only. Is it worth chasing this up or just drop it. Damage to car was worse. I also have footage and photos of said accident.
My continued hate for insurance companies has deepened and I'd rather not destroy my no claims.Anyone experience summat similar?

No matter what, you should have called McAMS Motorcycle Accident Management

I've dealt with them loads for cycling stuff, and whilst their methods are....cryptic. I might give them a shout.
Totally unhappy with how my insurance is handling this. -

Pricey but great. There is also a Bagster tank bag called a PUPSTER which looks immense.

Got a loose exhaust flange clamp to deal with, slight blow from the cylinder / exhaust area. God I hate working on exhausts, always stuck on, bolts that won’t move, no fun.

If you haven't already, I would avoid going through insurance at all costs if possible.
I claimed against a 3rd parties insurance when my bike was written off and even though it wasn't my fault or my insurance that paid out, insurance has been unaffordable since. This August it will have been 5 years so I can finally stop disclosing it to new insurers.

Remember payout from insurance is supposed to return you to same position as before so pay out should cover this.
But in lnsurance mind as you have claimed you are more likely claim again
Gather round children; let me tell you the cautionary tale of why you shouldn't do nearly twice the speed limit past Hyundai i30s.
Was heading home (late) from work last night, trying to make the little one's bedtime. Coming through Camden, I saw a long light ahead of me was still green. Gave the GS a fistful past a grey Hyundai and through the lights - just.
It's all 20mph round there. Was easily doing 35, probably 38-40.
Suddenly the Hyundai lights up the blues and sirens and comes chasing after me. After the least exciting chase ever, they stop me just before the next set of lights.
"License please sir"
Off back to the car for a few minutes to talk to the officer in the passenger seat.
"This is a high street. Please drive carefully in the future. We won't be taking this any further"
Adrenaline dumps into the system and I make a super English apology and am on my way.
Don't be like me.
