Maybe the issue here is the extra space after the cyclists roundabout and before the road roundabout, thats an invitation to bagsy the spot, claim 100 points and not be held up by a 69 yr old out for a jaunt.
Maybe its supposed to be a shelter for cars coming off the roundabout but in practice I would imagine thats not very fruitful.

Jesus, I rode through Spain did that; cause national outrage because it block the road for an hour.

Looks similar to the roundabout in Muswell Hill with the crossings straight off the roundabout. Can imagine if cyclists are going round it quite quickly then it would be difficult to turn off for cars as bikes are somewhere over the driver's left shoulder and pedestrians coming from both directions.

But, lots of cyclists don't like going round roundabouts so it's a decent innovation from that side.

That the idea of a footbridge doesn't seem to have occurred to anyone is beyond belief. I guess if it doesn't help motor vehicles, it's not a consideration. FFS!

An proposed overpass is mentioned but still not a great help if the train is across several blocks

If a train is a couple of miles long then you might still need to go a long way out of your way to get to the footbridge.

There was a school shooting in Serbia, 9 dead including 8 children. I was watching the press conference and surreal doesn't even begin to describe it, the minister of education and chief of police (?) in particular kept blaming western values for the shooting. A lot of "videogame culture" thrown about as well. Lots of digs at "societies where this kind of event frequently happens", basically implying it's the US' fault. Ridiculous.
