Did anyone buy one? Front disc on my mtb has shat the bed and I keep feelinbg like I'm getting a kicking from riing rigid so I'm sorely tempted but there's heefuckinghaw in the way of a spec list or geometry chart for it.

The crankset is Powerspline?! Shittest interface ever right?
I’d probably singlespeed it but without knowing what hub/cassette is on it, it’s hard to know how easy that’ll be.
If it has a 9 Spline rear hub then it doesn’t matter if it’s boost if I was going to singlespeed it and wanted to chuck a non boost Deore crankset on would it? Chainstay clearance might be problematic I guess.
Fork being shit isn’t so good though. Less of a bargain if I’d need to replace that before long.
That said, the other option in weighing up is a singlespeed Kona A with ancient shock, forks and v brakes so…🤷

I sometimes bend the hanger on new bikes sold in the shop with sx...
Noticeable play in the Judy and stanchions are actually faded...from the factory. A 10 year old recon is a better bet than this garbage.
Most likely a HG body. SX cassette is 11-50
Non boost chainset should be fine imo , even if frame is boost -

21 year old me would have been so happy about this. Sigh.

OutDry ex still exists though. Its silly good and a bit more versatile, as it's aimed more at hiking trail running etc. I have both

Cheers for the advice.
Have decided to fuck it all off and just fit a larger front tyre on the current bike which will let me drop the pressure and hopefully that'll do me.

I ordered one of the Shakedry 1985 non insulated jackets, interested to see what the fuss is/was about.
-
• #5845
From where?
-
• #5847
Actually, Blacks didn't allow me to add to add the jacket to the basket, probably due to no stock.
I bought from Millets, YHA15 for 15% discount (as their save20 code doesn't work)

Can't speak for the fit but think you'll be glad of the purchase - mine has been a winter game changer. Already raining before you head out? No bother.

Went for the non insulated version for versatility. Only concern is I'm a bit more insulated than I usually am, so might have to get back to race weight for the small size...

Also got the cheap 650b Ribble wheelset and cheap Byways for my wife's equally cheap (but excellent) Carbonda. Very pleased so far, and I've never bought wheels with such a thorough QC receipt. Deal of the year!

Yeah, like the non-stick pans and other miraculous coatings about - really amazing properties - but nasty at the same time. Ceramic paint coatings and some of the chain lubes maybe too, who knows??
Don't want to preach though, we try to do the right thing as some companies try to convince us otherwise eh.
