Is there any import duties or crazy wait when ordering from R2-bike? Thanks
Nope, keep it below £135 inc. postage and expect to wait about 5-7 working hodays.

You’re fine with r2-bike.
I’ve bought loads from them.
If the value of the total order is less than £130 then there are no fees due at all.In fact when you create an account and sign in, the prices are displayed with 0% vat, because they expect that you’ll be paying vat at the border when the value is over £130
However, they charge 0% even for orders under £130! So it works out cheaper on a lot of bits because of this.
To me, this is actually a mistake on their part, all the other German retailers add vat on orders under £130.
It’s been like this for ages and I’ve exploited it many times. -

Ha, fair comment. Really fancied them for my own bike and the only place I could get them was Ison, don't do much trade with them so the margins are a bit crap. Don't regret it though, they're great and probably the easiest tyres I've set up tubeless. The ones from Ribble (fingers crossed) will be hidden away for when mine need replacing.

I ordered my wheels from Ribble and they arrived 8 days later. They sat in proceeding and picking for a whole week and then landed on the doorstep the same day they said they were dispatched. So far so good and other than needing retaping they seem a cracking bargain.

Interested to know about that light bracket on the fork. What is it?
-
• #5807
It’s just a bit of the steerer tube with a star nut and a couple of washers to space it away from the fork. I keep meaning to add a top cap to finish it off.

Thanks.

Would the branding come off the wheels do you think? Or is it paint rather than stickers

It’s paint, but it’s on carbon so should come off with a bit of work. It’ll just spend the time it would take and go for a ride ;)
Anyway I think they are funny with their rift on the enve logo. -

They’re actually not the worst wheel graphics in the world, either. Fairly low-key! Bike looks great fun btw.
I know it’s not a straggler, but it’s making me regret selling mine!

Thanks! Brexit madness.

Are you sure? Mine have stickers rather than paint.

Boxful of ribble tyres just arrived. Thanks to whoever originally mentioned them.
Also shakedry jackets really are great. Plus the fabric's discontinued. https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/shakedry-fabric-is-set-to-be-retired-by-gore/

Been umming and arring about those tyres... How do they err feel?
-
• #5822
Obviously hard to judge without riding them, but they're pretty light and don't look any lower quality than the teravails/schwalbes I've used on the same bike. For the price I don't think you can go wrong.

Is the shakedry gore fabric discontinued because it contains 'forever chemicals'? That water-repelling stuff that will never degrade and stays in our systems....?
-
• #5824
Yup.
-
• #5825
Which is a shame as the fabric is absolutely amazing - absolute perfection in use, but obvs understandable and the environment must come first etc... But even still, shakedry is / was phenomenal
Is there any import duties or crazy wait when ordering from R2-bike? Thanks 🙏
I went for the level carbon drop bars for £39 - probably a bad idea buying 190g carbon bars from a place that won't be offering a warranty soon maybe... We'll see.
