Tern are there own mftr, they make a lot of frames for other companies, just like dahon did, still do, dahon is dave terns dads company.
This isn't a bad thing, it just means that the design stage is only rattling around one office, and not bouncing back between different designers /engineers so flaws don't appear until later down the line.
My previous career job was to literally baby sit this back and forth process in the far east between the different factions, a lot gets lost in translation and a lot more gets overlooked by everyone without even knowing it.

The pulley system on this completely stumped me. Surely should have been spotted as an issue way earlier on.
Always spaced them out.
