  • All my own work.

No hate, it's great for the Wrexham fans. But all the fairytale stuff is pushing it, they've signed a load of players (and a manager) whose level is a few divisions above and unsurprisingly stormed the league.

Lots of clubs (Gretna, Bolton, Blackburn, etc) have had the "fairytale" owners with unsustainable business models and then it all goes tits up.

  • In Wrexham’s case, sponsorship potential, merchandise sales and associated revenue streams should make their business model much more lucrative than any club in the lower leagues.

For the owners, any investment losses incurred should be handsomely offset by income from the documentary series, as well as much more exposure for the club and the town.

  • I don’t get the hate unless it’s jealousy.

As a Notts County supporter, I'm happy for long suffering Wrexham fans. I fucking hate the Hollywood celebrity worship though. Anyone that supports that club because Van Wilder owns it is a dick.

  • Anyone that started supporting Wrexham in 2023 is a dick.

  • Notts County have had an incredible season, their goals scored and points accumulated should have them well away.

I'm pleased for Wrexham, I've got family nearby and I've been to see them a few times years ago, enjoyed the documentary etc but this isn't a fairytale. It's what happens when you buy some of the best players from two leagues above at great expense.

  • Also 3-0 away at Peterborough yesterday is a fantastic result for Ipswich.

At various points, Plymouth were drawing 1-1 and Wednesday losing 1-0 as well.

Now even if we lose at Barnsley on Tuesday we're a point ahead of Wednesday with two games to play.

Meanwhile I tried to distract myself by seeing Clapton CFC's first game back at the Old Spotted Dog:

  • You can't win anything with kids, etc.

  • with unsustainable business models and then it all goes tits up.

I wonder how they'll cope with the EFL wage cap next year? No such thing in the NL.

  • Genuinely haven’t paid any attention to Wrexham and the new owners/players/manager, but had a look at the league standings today when I saw they had been promoted.

    1. Wrexham 110
    2. Notts County 106
    3. Chesterfield 81

That’s a huge difference between the top two and the rest. Huge!

  • It's more when the current owners lose interest, decide it isn't sustainable or whatever.

  • But all the fairytale stuff is pushing it

I don't pretend to be an expert but, aren't quite a few fairytales predicated on the arrival of a handsome prince to sweep a poor working class lass off into a life of luxury?

  • Peak spurs

  • On target for 30-0

  • I hope they get humped and fire everyone.

  • Lol. 4

  • ‘5. Amazing. Fucking hilarious.

  • 15 yr old kid in the barca squad today

  • That’s football over isn’t it?

What’s Burnley Munich FC owner arrangement?

  • Can you sack a caretaker manager?

  • At halftime would be good

  • I thinks Spurs fans are singing "You haven't scored for 10 minutes"

  • We have gone the opposite way. Bought in a leveraged buyout by American venture capitalists who have loaded debt onto the club.

Also shit, definitely not a fairytale.

  • Ah. The United way.
