What: a PVC membrane hooked onto aluminium tracks set around the walls.
Cost: not too dissimilar to dot and dab plasterboard, filling, sanding and painting.
Why: we had polystyrene tiles glued to a cracked concrete ceiling. Had to be covered somehow, so decided to try something new. This particular one has micro perforations so it absorbs sound, that plus the rockwool above turns a very live reflective room into a decent acoustic environment. This is the living room where I’ll have my hifi and our projector so two birds with one stone.
Hipsters: 100%. They’re hilarious and we’re all friends now so a good outcome all round. Will be working together in future too.
