I want to get a 75% keyboard
I got one of those (Vortex Tab 75), I like it 👍
You can use it via Bluetooth or cable (usb-c), and it comes with some extra coloured caps for fun, plus Windows & Mac ones.

I'm all about the fun. Looks nice.

Not mechanical related, but definitely keyboard related. I am loving having remapped my caps lock key to be a Ctrl key (when used as a chord with another key) and also as Escape, when pressed and released on its own.
Pressing both Shift keys together acts to turn caps lock on and off, in the rare event that I need it.
As a Linux user, into vim, i3wm and other keyboard driven tools, it's amazingly useful.

Hello clicky fetishists. Looking at a keychron K2 for the child's 13th birthday.
What does hot swappable mean?
-
• #681
That you can exchange switches (they're not soldered to the board).
-
• #682
I've got a K2 UK ISO that I would sell. Not RGB light.
PM if interested

• #683
And switches are not the same as keycaps then. I understand.

Some big savings here, including Keychron Q1 QMK RGB barebone keyboards (the ones with keyswitches look sold out)
Or the USA layout K2 for £41.99.

I hated mine at the beginning but love it now. Put some O rings to the keys to dampen the clicky clacks a little.

As a follow up. I'm after these caps OEM Dye-Sub PBT Keycap Set - Forest but sold out in the UK keychron site.
Any other sellers? Or leads to other similar looking ones?

Not the end of the world. The child is young enough to relearn. Certainly that's the backup plan

DENTEN 2-in-1 Calculator & Numpad on Kickstarter
-
• #691
Quite cool - difficult to justify at £45 though given excel, the computers calculator, an actual calculator & phones calculator are all within reach already. Would have to be a well timed expenses claim when the boss is too preoccupied to really think about what they're approving!

Not totally on topic but I figure this is the best place to ask. I have an Mx keys and I have some of the buttons reprogrammed for a specific app I use. I have just started a new job and I can't install Logitech options+ on my work laptop to reprogram the keys.
Can I reprogram the keys on an Mx keys by a different method?
If not, what are my options to remap a few keys? -

I still have somewhere a Canon X Mark-1 Bluetooth mouse.
It’s a mouse, number pad and calculator all in one.
Nice concept, pretty rubbish at all its functions.

I picked this up in Japan many years ago. It was the height of technology at the time, calculator that also plugged into your PC to work as a numberpad.

I never was a numpad guy, but I bet that was a great companion for a laptop back then 🙂

Back then? It still gets used now.

They are some great old school productivity tools!
What does the button under + do? Ans?

I was under the impression that logitech stuff stored natively on the device, i.e you need the software to change options but once done it is done. Certainly true on my mice, but maybe that’s just settings rather than macro stuff.

Would have thought people would just use their iPhone now 💁
No. I realised it was an unnecessary fetishisation.
