Ooh that is a banger

I guess it's not really African, but a banger it is.
Let's call it an Africanesque banger. -

Just found out that Tshala Mwana died last December at only 64. There were never many women stars in Soukous but she was one. And had one of the greatest Daly Kimoko sebenes on this track.

What an intro! That horn/vocal refrain is rude as fuck, such a lively track, thanks for posting

Bit of Tuareg, Saharan and western fusion

This is a fantastic track of two halves.

I've only just discovered this album which appears to be entirely about Ivory Coast football - ASEC being their biggest team. Takes a while before Daly Kimoko is let loose but worth the wait.

Enjoyed this (least 10 mins in particular):

"Hey it's DJ Lag, from Durban, South Africa. I recorded this mix back home in Clermont. Some of the tracks are from my album 'Meeting with The King' since I am celebrating a year since the release! I have also included some of the new stuff the young kids are doing down here in Durban - enjoy the mix!" - DJ Lag

The truly great, beautiful, magnificent rhythm guitarist Lokassa Ya Mbongo has died at 80. I could pick 50 tracks he played on, fuck, I could pick a hundred. Just the best. RIP.

Nene Tchakou and Lokassa now both passed away.

Soukous was very popular in Colombia long after it faded in the DRC and Europe. Came across this last night, Lokassa taking lead guitar at the age of 75.

Wow that was rowdy!

Damn my previous entry got nuked.
Here it is again. So nostalgic for me. -

This should be on the sound track of some edgy HBO series.
EDIT: Reading the comments on the Youtube vid. Seems someone already had that idea.

I'm not having the same experience.
What do the comments say?

I found a different vid. A music video for the same tune. I get the impression a lot of the commenters are people who first heard it in a video game or something like that.
Belongs here I think
