Looking to buy a new alloy gravel, preferably with a 1x drivetrain, for £1-1.5k. Any particular favourites?

Sonder Camino looks to be a solid choice.
It depends really what you want from it.
Racing, adventure touring, riding off-road (mountains biking "lite")
You could do all of those with a generic gravel bike, or you could buy a bike better adapted to your specific requirement.
